In a bold step toward operational excellence, Tema Shipyard has officially rolled out a 24-hour shift system, effective 1st July 2025. This landmark move is a direct result of management’s unwavering commitment to meeting client expectations with quality service, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.

Under the visionary leadership of CEO Alhaji Osman Sulemana and Deputy CEO Mr. Peter Mensah, the shipyard’s management team pledged to transform the way services are delivered and they have delivered on that promise.

The introduction of the round-the-clock system is designed to maximise productivity, reduce vessel turnaround time, and ensure that clients enjoy seamless service any time, day or night. This is a strategic improvement not just for the Shipyard, but for the maritime and logistics sector in Ghana as a whole.

This is a direct response to the national call by President John Dramani Mahama for institutions to adopt extended work models to drive economic transformation.

During the launch of the 24-Hour Economy Policy, President Mahama emphasised that “a round-the-clock economy is critical to creating decent jobs, improving service delivery, and boosting investor confidence.” Tema Shipyard has taken this vision to heart, becoming one of the first major state-owned enterprises to operationalize the President’s directive

Tema Shipyard continues to take strides in innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, solidifying its position as the preferred vessel maintenance and repair hub in West Africa.
