Her visit began with an engagement session where our Heads of Department were introduced, followed by a guided field tour to give her a first-hand view of our operations.
The tour created an opportunity to share both our challenges and the vast potentials the Shipyard holds in driving Ghana’s economic growth.
As part of our commitment to excellence and compliance with international standards, Tema Shipyard held its annual Management Review Meeting.
The session focused on assessing the performance of our Integrated Management Systems (IMS) in line with clause 9.3, ensuring that all inputs and outputs were thoroughly reviewed. Key shortfalls were identified, with action points set to strengthen our operations.
The meeting also served as a platform to initiate various continual improvement initiatives, reinforcing our drive towards sustainable growth, safety, and quality service delivery.
In line with our commitment to safety, compliance, and continual improvement, the
management of Tema Shipyard, led by our Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji
Osman Sulemana, embarked on a comprehensive walk-through of the yard. The
CEO, together with some management team members and some operational staff,
visited the various departments to assess housekeeping standards and
ensure strict adherence to hazard compliance protocols.
The exercise provided management with first-hand insight on the day-to-day working environment of staff, while at the same time, reinforcing the Shipyard’s
dedication to maintaining safe, clean, and hazard-free workplace. During the
tour, some observations were made, and constructive feedback was also shared
with various departments to enhance compliance with health, safety, and
housekeeping standards.
This initiative reflects Tema Shipyard’s commitment to the well-being of its
workforce, operational efficiency, and compliance with
international best practices in occupational health and safety and the ISO
standards (9001:2015 QMS, 14001:2015 EMS and 45001:2018 OH&S
Tema Shipyard Delivers Successful GPHA Tugboat Project
We are pleased to share the successful completion of a comprehensive servicing project for the Commander K. T. Dovlo Tugboat of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
Coordinated by Delali Gabienu and Adam Abdul Shakur Zakaria and supervised by Saaka Leo Ibrahim, the project covered:
Hull cleaning, painting & marking
Propeller blade reconditioning & polishing
Valves, chests & gratings servicing
Anchors & chains maintenance
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Zinc anodes replacement
Box coolers servicing
